Asia eSIM Data Plans for Travel

Travelling through Asia can be exciting, beautiful and full of unforgettable moments. From the busy streets of Tokyo and Seoul to the beaches of Thailand, the temples of Vietnam, the food markets of Singapore, and the cultural cities of Indonesia, having reliable mobile data can make every part of your journey easier. With an Asia travel eSIM, you can stay connected without searching for a local SIM card after arrival. Your mobile data can be ready before your trip, helping you use maps, translation apps, hotel bookings, transport services, social networks, emails and online calls when you need them most.

eSIM Plus offers Asia eSIM data plans for travellers who want a simple and comfortable way to stay online across popular tourist destinations. Whether you are visiting one country or travelling between several Asian countries, an eSIM can help you remain close to your family, friends and the services you depend on every day. Our Asia eSIM options are designed for compatible unlocked phones and can be installed using a QR code, activation link or manual details. There is no physical SIM card to collect, and you can usually keep your regular SIM active while using the eSIM for mobile data.

Asia is one of the most visited regions in the world, with destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and more. A travel eSIM helps you move between airports, hotels, cities, beaches and tourist attractions with more confidence. Whether you need data for Google Maps, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger, Telegram, Instagram, TikTok, email, taxi apps, train routes, restaurant searches or travel updates, an Asia eSIM gives you a practical way to stay connected throughout your journey.

Before buying the eSIM

Before buying your eSIM, please make sure your phone is compatible with eSIM technology and is unlocked from your mobile network. A locked phone may not accept travel eSIM profiles from another provider.

You should also make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting the installation. Installing an eSIM requires internet access, and it is easier to complete the process before travelling or while connected to reliable Wi-Fi.

Before You Travel

Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. Install your eSIM before departure or after arrival, and follow the activation instructions carefully. If you need help, contact eSIM Plus support before deleting the eSIM from your phone.

With eSIM Plus, your mobile data can be ready when you need it — from the airport to your hotel, from city streets to train stations, and from short visits to longer journeys across the countries.

How to Receive and Activate Your eSIM After Payment

After your payment is completed, your eSIM activation details are sent by email. This usually includes the information needed to install your travel eSIM, such as a QR code, activation link, or manual installation details, depending on the selected plan.

Please check the email address used during checkout carefully. If you do not see the eSIM email in your inbox, also check your spam, junk, promotions, or updates folder. Some email providers may filter automated delivery messages, especially when they include QR codes or activation instructions.

How to Install Your eSIM

Once you receive your eSIM activation details, follow the instructions provided in the email. Our eSIMs can be installed in one of three ways:

  • QR code installation
  • Activation link installation
  • Manual installation using SM-DP+ address and activation code

After the eSIM is added to your phone, give it a clear name such as “Travel eSIM” or the destination name. This helps you recognise which SIM profile is used for mobile data.

When to Activate Mobile Data

You can usually install your eSIM before travelling, but mobile data should be activated according to the instructions for your plan. Some plans may start when the eSIM connects to the supported network, while others may start from the installation or activation moment.

If you are travelling abroad, it is often best to install the eSIM before departure while connected to Wi-Fi, then turn on the eSIM and mobile data when you arrive at your destination.

What to Check After Installing the eSIM

After installation, open your phone’s mobile network or cellular settings and check that the new eSIM profile appears correctly. Make sure the eSIM is turned on and selected for mobile data when you are ready to use it.

It is also important to activate data roaming for the new eSIM profile. Travel eSIMs often connect through partner networks in the destination country, so data roaming must be enabled for mobile data to work correctly.

Please make sure data roaming is activated only for the travel eSIM, not necessarily for your main SIM, unless you want to use roaming on your regular mobile plan.
