Description

Every traveller uses mobile data differently. Some people only need internet for maps, messages, emails and hotel details. Others use social networks, video calls, hotspot sharing, cloud services, online meetings, content uploads or travel planning tools throughout the day.

eSIM Plus offers Vietnam eSIM data options for different travel needs, from light daily use to larger data packages for longer stays, business travel, backpacking trips, family holidays or more active internet use. Where available, your device can connect to fast 4G or 5G mobile data, depending on local network coverage and phone compatibility.

Installing your Vietnam eSIM is simple. After choosing the data plan that matches your journey, you receive your activation details by email. You can install the eSIM before travelling or after arrival, then turn on mobile data according to the plan instructions.

Before selecting your eSIM, please make sure your phone supports eSIM technology and is unlocked from your mobile network. Most modern iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel and other eSIM-compatible devices can support travel eSIMs

Vietnam eSIM for Tourists, Backpackers and Business Travellers

A Vietnam eSIM is useful for many types of travel. Tourists can use mobile data for maps, tours, hotel check-ins, restaurant searches, translation tools and sharing travel memories. Backpackers can stay connected while moving between cities, hostels, beaches, islands and mountain areas. Families can stay in contact while visiting busy markets, airports, train stations and attractions. Business travellers and remote workers can use mobile data for emails, online meetings, cloud tools and communication between hotels, offices and transport points.

Public Wi-Fi can be helpful, but it is not always available when you are walking through city streets, using transport, visiting attractions or moving between destinations. A travel eSIM gives you a more flexible way to stay online during your trip.

Popular Places to Use Your Vietnam eSIM

Your Vietnam travel eSIM can be useful in many popular destinations, including:

  • Hanoi
  • Ho Chi Minh City
  • Da Nang
  • Hoi An
  • Ha Long Bay
  • Sapa
  • Nha Trang
  • Hue
  • Phu Quoc
  • Mekong Delta
  • Mui Ne
  • Dalat
  • Can Tho
  • Cat Ba
Important: To use an eSIM, your phone must meet two conditions:
- It must support eSIM.
- It must be unlocked and not restricted to a specific network.

How to check if a phone supports eSIM using *#06#

  1. Open the Phone / Dialer app.
  2. Type this code: *#06#
  3. Do not press call.
On most phones, the information screen opens automatically.
  4. Look for a number called: EID

5. Check the result:

If you see EID, the phone usually supports eSIM.

If you see only IMEI or IMEI 1 / IMEI 2, but no EID, the phone probably does not support eSIM, or eSIM may be disabled by the manufacturer/carrier/region.

What EID looks like

EID is usually a long number, often around 32 digits.

Example:

EID: 89049032000000000000000000000000

Important note

Do not share your full IMEI or EID publicly. They are unique identifiers for your phone.
